Covid Immunity Tests

Through a quick and easy finger prick, this COVID-19 Antibody (Immunity) Test demonstrates both vaccine effectiveness and the immune response to a previous COVID-19 infection. There are two different types of antibodies provided by the qualitative test known as the COVID-19 Immunity Test. The test can be used on anyone, even children, and is exceedingly specific and accurate with no false negatives.

An immunity test is a blood examination to determine:

  • The current strength of your immunity to the virus
  • If you previously had the coronavirus (COVID-19)
  • If you developed antiviral antibodies after receiving the COVID-19 vaccination

The test is carried out in a simple 4-step process and can be done at home:

  1. Finger prick for blood sample on the testing kit and let it dry
  2. Drop it off at Apex Group offices in Mrieħel or other outlets around Malta
  3. It will then be sent to the licensed lab in Malta
  4. Results will be received by email within a week from sampling date (helpline is also available)

Corporate Wellness Services

Why should a company invest in Corporate Wellness Programmes? Because a healthy, motivated workforce is vitally important for a company as a whole. Through such programmes, companies can increase productivity, lower health care costs, and reduce time lost to illness or injury.

Employers today have a vested interest in health-related issues and reducing unnecessary medical costs that erode corporate profits.

Our services address a wide spectrum of health issues that most companies face. We are able to coordinate different health aspects for your company by combining a number of services to deliver a complete care package. Our services can be carried out on site, at your preferred location, at your convenience. Furthermore, employees will be supplied with access to relevant online information through a web portal.

Flight Nurse Medical Escort

We provide premier service and quality assistance through the help of an experienced Air Escort. Our certified nurses will provide you with the best care available, no matter what medical travel assistance is needed.

After consultation with your General Practitioner/physician, we obtain the travel documents and medical orders necessary for medical transport. A written ‘Fitness to Fly’ form issued by your physician is usually required by most established airlines. Apart from the necessary documents, we streamline your travel needs by coordinating all ground and air transportation medical equipment such as oxygen, wheelchairs, ambulatory assistive devices and other specialised medical equipment that is deemed necessary in accordance with your health needs.

Home Nursing Services

If you are recovering from surgery or if you have just been discharged from hospital and are not feeling well enough to take care of yourself at home, our Registered Nurses can make your recovery period comfortable by coming to you to monitor your condition and cater to your needs in the comfort of your home.

Our Case Management system ensures that the Registered Nurse who visits you at home is working in close collaboration with our Case Manager so that your information is processed, and your needs are dealt with in the most professional way. In this way, all aspects related to your care are assembled and tackled under the care and guidance of one person.

We work in collaboration with your Medical Specialist to ensure you receive the care you require in the comfort of your home. Our nurses are also good educators who can advise you and equip you with knowledge on how to continue to take care of yourself.

Phlebotomy Service

Nurses and phlebotomists are part of the growing workforce of the Uniplural Care team of practitioners, who support doctors and consultants in their busy clinic schedules. Because blood analysis is a fundamental part of medical treatment, Uniplural Care is providing a nursing/phlebotomy service in pharmacies and clinics as well as in the comfort of the individual’s home according to his/her requirements.

This service can be offered either in a hospital or clinic, or in a home, office or school setting.

Phlebotomy services are used when an individual needs a sample of their blood, but is unable to get to hospital.  The phlebotomist visits the client at their house or office, draws the blood sample and transports it back to the laboratory for analysis. In essence, if a person cannot make it to the phlebotomist, the phlebotomist goes to the person.

There are several people who benefit from such an arrangement. This includes people who are restricted to their homes, such as the aged, those who are physically challenged or those who have severe illnesses.

Mobile phlebotomy services come in handy for places like nursing homes or care centres which may find it difficult to get people to hospitals for blood tests. Individuals who need regular blood testing, like diabetics or cancer patients, may find frequent hospital visits tiresome and would call for a mobile phlebotomist. There are also individuals who have busy schedules, those who have trouble getting transportation to hospitals or those who simply want to have specimens collected in the privacy of their homes. All these are perfect clients for mobile phlebotomy.

Our phlebotomy services include the collection of blood samples from individuals. This has to be carried out carefully in a hygienic environment and all equipment used has to be sterile. Our phlebotomists also perform body measurement tests, including blood pressure, height, weight, and heart rate.

School Nursing

School nurses have been part of the school setting since the 1800’s where they provided school children with inspections to identify those with communicable diseases needing treatment. Overtime, their role has evolved to a new level considering that nowadays we are dealing with students with chronic diseases, mental health issues and high-risk behaviours in addition to disabilities and injuries.

Roles of a School Nurse:
  • Promoting health and safety
  • Support of healthy food programs
  • Promotion of physical education/activity
  • Provides health counselling and assesses needs, provides interventions and refers students to appropriate channels accordingly
  • Promotes community/parent involvement in assuring a healthy school
